About Wayne
A calm presence when it matters most.
I’m Wayne Prevett. My grandfather owned Prevett Funeral Home, and I am the third generation of my family to stand with families in this work. For more than 40 years I have led funerals, over 2,000 of them.
I listen before I write. I learn who your loved one was and what mattered to them, then shape a ceremony that feels honest and unmistakably theirs. There is no need to make a life sound perfect to honour it well.

Ceremonies
A form that fits the life.
Intimate or formal, each ceremony can hold remembrance, reflection, faith, music and the voices of those closest to your loved one.
Funeral Services
The most traditional service. The casket is usually present, and burial or cremation follows. It can be held at a funeral home, a place of worship or another setting that mattered to your loved one.
Memorial Gatherings
A service held without a casket, most often after cremation. An urn or photographs may be present, and it can take place days or weeks after a death.
Celebrations of Life
A less formal gathering built around stories, music and memories. It can be held almost anywhere, at a time that suits the family.
Graveside Services
A service held at the cemetery, with a casket or an urn present. It may follow a procession from the funeral home, or family and friends may simply meet at the grave.

How it works
You don’t need the right words. We find them together.
You call or email
Reach out whenever you’re ready, even if plans aren’t settled. I’ll listen and answer your questions.
We meet
Usually within a day or two, in person or by phone. I learn about your loved one and we shape the ceremony together.
I lead the ceremony
On the day, I guide everything with calm attention so you can be present with family and friends.
About fees
If you are working with a funeral home, my fee is usually arranged through them as part of your funeral arrangements. If you are planning a ceremony without a funeral home, I will explain the fee clearly when we first speak, before anything is decided.
Words from families
What families say.
“May I say once again how beautifully you conducted Mom’s farewell. I couldn’t have hoped for anything more. You touched many hearts that day including mine.”
“You made us laugh at a time when we thought laughter would never be possible. … It gave us comfort at a time when it was much needed.”
“You made her story come to life. … There was some sadness, some laughing, but overall you were able to bring to life my memories and create a happy calm with dealing with the loss of my Mother.”
“The manner in which you incorporated our memories in with prayer and scripture was very comforting. You have a true gift.”

“Both my brother and sister felt like you did an excellent job, especially with the little information you had to work with. But you really touched on the essence of what my father was about.”
